acme.sh im Überblick
acme.sh ist ein quelloffener ACME-Client, komplett in Shell geschrieben — er holt und erneuert Let's-Encrypt- (und andere ACME-) Zertifikate ohne zusätzliche Abhängigkeiten, beliebt auf schlanken Systemen und Appliances. Das Projekt entwickelt aktiv mit häufigen Updates.
Für Admins ist acme.sh flexibel, gerade wegen der vielen DNS-Provider-Anbindungen für DNS-01-Validierung. Die eigentliche Betriebslogik läuft über einen Cron-Job, der die Erneuerung erledigt — wichtig ist, dass er läuft und Zertifikate rechtzeitig verlängert werden. Da acme.sh als Shell-Skript mit teils erhöhten Rechten und Zugriff auf DNS-API-Credentials läuft, gehören diese Zugangsdaten geschützt und der Bezug aus der offiziellen Quelle sichergestellt. Updates bringen neue Provider und Fixes; die Renewal-Logs im Blick behalten, damit kein Zertifikat unbemerkt abläuft.
