Patroni im Überblick
Patroni (von Zalando) ist ein Orchestrierungs-Werkzeug für PostgreSQL-Hochverfügbarkeit — es verwaltet automatisches Failover und Replikation, gestützt auf einen verteilten Konsens-Speicher (etcd, Consul oder ZooKeeper). Das Projekt veröffentlicht regelmäßige Releases; als HA-Steuerung für die Datenbank ist Sorgfalt bei Updates entscheidend.
Für Admins ist Patroni betriebskritisch, weil es die Failover-Logik der Datenbank steuert. Updates laufen kontrolliert Knoten für Knoten, ohne die Konsens-Schicht zu stören; vorher die Datenbank sichern und den Cluster-Zustand prüfen (alle Knoten gesund, ein klarer Leader). Die Kompatibilität zwischen Patroni, PostgreSQL und dem Konsens-Speicher beachten. Ein unbedachtes Update darf kein ungewolltes Failover auslösen — daher im Wartungsfenster und getestet. Die Patroni-REST-API gehört abgesichert. Nach dem Update Failover-Verhalten und Replikation verifizieren. Die eingesetzten Versionen (Patroni, PostgreSQL, DCS) gemeinsam im Blick behalten.
