Docker Compose im Überblick

Docker Compose definiert Multi-Container-Anwendungen deklarativ in YAML — für viele kleinere Deployments das zentrale Betriebswerkzeug. Es wird heute als Compose-V2-Plugin der Docker-CLI gepflegt und mit Docker-Releases aktualisiert; die ältere Standalone-Version (V1) ist ausgelaufen.

Für Admins heißt das vor allem: von V1 auf V2 umsteigen (der Compose-Befehl statt des Bindestrich-Kommandos), da V1 keine Fixes mehr bekommt. Updates kommen mit der Docker Engine bzw. Docker Desktop. Beim Versionssprung lohnt der Blick auf geändertes Verhalten bei Netzwerken, Profilen und der Versionsangabe in der Compose-Datei, die inzwischen optional ist. Ansonsten ist Compose erfreulich stabil.
