HashiCorp Vault im Überblick
HashiCorp Vault ist ein zentrales Secrets-Management — es speichert, rotiert und vergibt Zugangsdaten, Zertifikate und Verschlüsselungsschlüssel. HashiCorp veröffentlicht regelmäßige Releases; als Herzstück der Secrets-Infrastruktur sind Sicherheitsupdates und ein sorgfältiger Betrieb besonders kritisch.
Für Admins zählt beim Update die Cluster-Reihenfolge (Standby-Knoten zuerst, dann Failover auf den Aktiven) und die Storage-Backend-Kompatibilität. Vor Upgrades ein Snapshot des Storage. Vault gehört streng abgesichert: auto-unseal bewusst konfigurieren, Audit-Logging aktiv, Zugriff über kurzlebige Tokens und Policies. Ein kompromittiertes Vault bedeutet Zugriff auf halbe Infrastrukturen — restriktive Policies und Netzwerktrennung sind hier nicht optional. Die eingesetzte Version und ihren Supportzeitraum im Blick behalten.
