Notepad++ im Überblick
Notepad++ ist der verbreitetste freie Texteditor unter Windows — auf Admin-Workstations für Logs, Configs und schnelle Edits kaum wegzudenken. Updates erscheinen mehrmals im Jahr, gelegentlich kurz hintereinander, wenn Regressionen oder Sicherheitsprobleme (auch in gebündelten Komponenten wie Scintilla oder Plugins) gefixt werden.
Wie 7-Zip ist Notepad++ ein Kandidat für veraltete Installationen: Der Update-Dialog erscheint nur interaktiv, in Silent-Deployments bleibt er stumm. Für Flotten empfiehlt sich die Verteilung über winget/Chocolatey oder das MSI-freundliche Installer-Repacking.
Ein Auge verdient das Plugin-Ökosystem: Plugins laufen mit Editor-Rechten und werden über den Plugin-Admin aktualisiert — in restriktiven Umgebungen lohnt eine Whitelist. Die Release Notes sind kurz und ehrlich, Breaking Changes selten.
