Affinity at a glance

Affinity is a desktop creative suite that combines vector design, photo and pixel editing and page layout in a single application. What used to be sold as three separate programs -- Designer, Photo and Publisher -- is now brought together in one shared interface. Following the acquisition of Serif, the vendor is Canva. Designers, agencies and marketing teams use the software as an alternative to subscription-based suites.

The application is maintained in clearly distinguishable editions; new versions bring feature additions, format support and bug fixes. Because Affinity is a desktop program, updates are applied per workstation.

In managed environments, administrators should plan new editions and check before rollout whether file formats, licensing or system requirements have changed. The vendor's release notes list the respective new features and fixed bugs.
