Audacity at a glance
Audacity is an open source multi-track audio editor for recording, cutting, noise reduction and format conversion. In companies it runs on workstations in training, marketing or telephony teams, for example for phone system announcements, podcasts and post-processing of recordings. Administrators deploy it as a package to Windows, macOS and Linux clients.
Releases arrive as maintenance and feature versions with installers per platform, accompanied by source code and checksums. In parallel there are pre-release builds of a new major generation that can bring a substantially changed interface and project format.
