DriveLock at a glance

DriveLock is an endpoint security suite developed in Germany and marketed as the HYPERSECURE platform. It combines device control, application control, encryption, vulnerability detection and security awareness in a centrally managed solution. Administrators use it to govern which removable media and programs are allowed on workstations and to enforce a zero-trust approach for endpoints.

The software is released in named yearly versions that are supplemented by patches. The vendor publishes release notes for each edition and announces the end of support for the respective previous version; older but still supported builds remain maintained for a limited period.

When updating, agent and management server should be aligned, because mixed builds can cause compatibility problems. Before rolling out, review the release notes for changed policy options and prerequisites and test with a pilot group. As only a limited number of versions receive support, a timely move to the current edition should be planned.
