FileZilla is a popular open-source FTP/SFTP/FTPS client, widely used to move files to and from servers. The project ships regular updates, occasionally with fixes to the embedded protocol components.

For admins the attention point is stored credentials: FileZilla can save site logins, so protect them (a master password) and prefer key-based SFTP over stored passwords. Updates bring features plus component fixes; keep it current. Source it from the official site — bundled installers have historically carried extra offers, so choose carefully, and prefer SFTP/FTPS over plain FTP. New versions maintain compatibility with the site manager; export it as a backup regardless. For automated transfers, a scripted client (or the FileZilla CLI tools) is the better fit — secure the scripts and credentials.
