Flameshot at a glance
Flameshot is an open-source screenshot tool that runs on Linux, Windows and macOS. Straight after capture you can mark regions, add arrows and text, and blur sensitive areas, which makes it useful in day-to-day support work for ticket documentation and how-to guides. Capture can also be scripted through the command line and a DBus interface.
Development happens on GitHub, and releases are published as GitHub Releases with ready-made packages for Windows and macOS plus AppImage, Flatpak and Snap variants for Linux. Linux distribution packages often trail the project by several builds; if you need the current state, use the AppImage or Flatpak instead. After updating on Wayland, run a quick functional test, because screen capture goes through desktop portals there and the behaviour can change between builds.
