AVM FRITZ!Box 7590 (FRITZ!OS) at a glance
The FRITZ!Box 7590 is a popular AVM router/gateway (DSL) common in German homes and small offices. AVM ships FRITZ!OS updates plus security fixes; as an internet-facing gateway, keeping the firmware current is important.
For admins updating is convenient through the web UI (with optional auto-update), and AVM supports its devices for a long time. Keep remote management off unless needed and secured, use strong credentials, and apply firmware updates promptly — an exposed router is a scanned target. After updates, verify the internet connection, VPN and any port forwards. Watch the FRITZ!OS version and the device's support status; older models eventually reach end of updates and belong in the replacement plan. patchletter surfaces new FRITZ!OS releases.
