Google Chrome is the world's most-used browser and a core part of almost every desktop fleet. Google ships a new stable release roughly every four weeks, plus out-of-band security builds whenever an actively exploited zero-day is found — and Chrome is a prime target, so those patches matter.

For admins the update cadence is the main story: the built-in updater keeps standalone installs current, while managed environments steer it through group policy or the enterprise MSI. Because browsers are a primary attack surface, keep the patch window short and don't defer emergency releases. Extensions are the usual weak spot — restrict them via policy to a reviewed allowlist. Chrome's ADMX templates give fine-grained control over updates, features and telemetry.
