heylogin at a glance

heylogin is a business password manager that stores credentials encrypted and unlocks them through a paired second device or a platform authenticator instead of a master password. Administrators use it to group credentials for shared accounts, hand out access in a traceable way, and revoke it again when staff leave the organisation.

The service itself is hosted and updated by the vendor, so what matters operationally are the clients: browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari plus mobile apps for iOS and Android, all delivered through the respective stores. The vendor maintains a page with a roadmap and release notes as well as a status page, but publishes no versioned changelog with its own downloads.

When updating, check the permissions the browser extension requests, prefer central rollout via group policy or MDM over manual installation, and verify the recovery paths first. Because unlocking is tied to a device, replacement devices, emergency access and recovery keys should be sorted out before devices are swapped or clients are migrated.
