Mountain Duck at a glance
Mountain Duck by iterate GmbH mounts remote storage as a network drive so that files in the cloud or on a server appear like local data in Explorer and Finder. It supports many protocols and services, including WebDAV, SFTP, FTP, S3-compatible object storage, Azure, Google Cloud Storage and Nextcloud. A local cache keeps files available offline and synchronizes changes back to the remote.
The software is maintained as a desktop application for Windows and macOS and distributed in versioned editions; on macOS it is also available as a Homebrew cask. Between editions the protocol connectors, caching behavior and operating-system integration change.
When updating, be aware that deep system integrations such as file-system extensions may be affected and that a restart or re-approval of permissions can be required. Before an update, finish running transfers and check that the license and configured connections remain compatible.
