NordVPN is used in enterprise environments to secure client connections over encrypted VPN tunnels and to enable access across distributed sites. The Linux client provides a lightweight command-line interface that integrates well into scripts and automated provisioning workflows.

New versions ship at fairly regular intervals and are distributed through the official deb and rpm repositories as well as GitHub releases. Typically only the current minor version is actively maintained, while older builds are removed from the repositories. Admins should update continuously to avoid missing security fixes and protocol changes.

When updating, it is advisable to verify the behavior of the daemon and any existing connection profiles after the upgrade, since CLI options and default protocols may change between versions. A controlled rollout via package management improves traceability and keeps versions consistent across the fleet.
