OneSpan Authentication Server at a glance

OneSpan Authentication Server, formerly known as VASCO IDENTIKEY, is a centralized server for strong authentication. It verifies login attempts to corporate networks, VPNs and applications and augments username-and-password logins with additional factors. It supports methods such as one-time passwords, push approval, FIDO and hardware tokens, and for financial institutions it also validates transaction signatures.

The server is run on-premises and shipped in discrete versions; new releases bring feature additions, interface adjustments and security fixes. The vendor announces planned removals of features and formats in advance so that administrators can plan for the changes.

Before an update, check compatibility with connected directory services, databases and HSMs as well as with the authenticator types in use. In high-availability setups with multiple instances a rolling upgrade path is advisable to keep the service running during the update. Access to downloads and release information is provided through the customer portal.
