Rspamd at a glance

Rspamd is a widely used, fast open-source spam-filtering system, often the anti-spam engine in modern mail setups (including mailcow). Rspamd ships regular releases plus fixes; as a component in the mail path processing untrusted messages, keeping it current matters.

For admins Rspamd usually comes from the project's or the distribution's packages. Because it parses untrusted email content, keep it patched for parsing and security fixes. Its web controller interface holds configuration and statistics — bind it locally or protect it, never exposed to the internet. Rules, maps and the Bayesian data drive filtering quality; back up the configuration. After updating, verify that mail is still scored and filtered correctly — a broken filter either floods inboxes with spam or, worse, silently drops legitimate mail. It integrates with the MTA (Postfix, others) via milter or proxy — check that after updates. Track releases; patchletter surfaces new Rspamd versions.
