SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge Desktop App at a glance
The SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge (CSE, formerly Banyan Security) desktop app is the client of SonicWall's zero-trust access solution. It registers endpoints, evaluates trust factors such as operating system level or disk encryption and establishes the service tunnel to permitted internal applications. It is available for Windows, macOS, Linux and mobile platforms.
SonicWall publishes new versions in a changelog on its documentation site that cannot be read reliably by scripts; package repositories lag behind the vendor's versions.
For deployment to managed devices, SonicWall offers installation packages with parameters for automatic registration. Before the rollout, check whether trust factors or minimum versions have changed in the console, so that devices do not lose access after the update.
