Technitium DNS Server is a popular open-source, cross-platform DNS server offering recursive resolution, ad blocking, DNS-over-HTTPS/TLS and a web UI — common in homelabs and privacy-focused setups. It ships frequent releases plus security fixes; as a DNS server the network relies on, keeping it current and access-controlled matters.

For admins updates run through the built-in mechanism or by swapping the package/container — back up the configuration first. The admin web interface must not be exposed to the internet — keep it on the internal network behind authentication.
