TP-Link Archer AX73 at a glance

The Archer AX73 is a Wi-Fi 6 router for small offices and home-office desks. It offers gigabit ports, a USB port, guest network, parental controls, VPN server functions and management through the web interface or the Tether app. As a consumer-oriented device it is often used as a router or as an access point behind a company gateway.

TP-Link publishes the firmware without a login on the download page, per hardware version and region. The hardware versions are listed separately and carry different releases; the default view of the page shows no file at first, and only selecting the hardware version returns the list. There is therefore no single overall statement for the model.

Before updating, check the hardware version on the label and choose the file for the right version and region; a wrong image can damage the device. Apply the update over a cable. Back up the configuration first, since a reset may be needed after larger jumps. Automatic app updates should be switched off if required.
