The ER605 is a compact Omada router for small offices, branches and remote sites. It combines several internet uplinks with load balancing and failover, offers site-to-site and remote-access VPN, and can be managed either on its own through the web interface or centrally through an Omada controller.

TP-Link publishes the firmware without a login on the download page of Omada support, organised by hardware version and region. The release notes name the affected model variants, a minimum version required for the update and the matching controller version. Each hardware version has its own track; the oldest hardware revision receives its own releases.

When updating, check the minimum version first, because some releases can only be installed in steps. If the router is managed by a controller, raise the controller to the version named in the release notes beforehand. A configuration backup is advisable, and the restart belongs in a maintenance window, because internet access and VPN tunnels are briefly interrupted.
