TP-Link OC300 at a glance
The OC300 is the larger hardware controller in the Omada range, in a 19-inch case. It is intended for installations with many access points, switches and gateways, manages several sites and offers guest portals, policies, reports and cloud access. Compared with the smaller model, it brings more performance for larger environments.
TP-Link publishes the firmware without a login on the download page of Omada support, split by hardware version. The default view shows a variant with a very old release; the currently maintained hardware versions have their own pages. The source refers to one of these currently maintained hardware versions, while its sibling version runs on an adjacent track.
Before updating, back up the controller configuration. The order matters: update the controller first, then the managed devices. During the restart the management interface is briefly unreachable, while the attached devices continue with their last configuration. The hardware version is on the type plate and decides which file fits.
