TreeSize Professional at a glance

TreeSize Professional is the paid edition of JAM Software's disk space analyser. It scans local drives, network shares, NAS systems and cloud storage and breaks the result down by folder, file type, age or owner. Compared with the free edition it adds scheduled scans, reports in several formats, duplicate detection and a command line interface, which is why it often runs as a recurring job against file servers rather than as an occasional desktop tool.

Within a major version the vendor ships maintenance releases at a steady pace, carrying fixes and smaller additions. Major versions arrive less frequently and normally require a new licence key. The free edition follows its own, much lower version line and should not be confused with this one.

When updating, verify that scheduled tasks, command line invocations and export templates still behave: switches and report formats do change across major versions. Because server scans typically run elevated and reach every share, keep the tool in the software inventory and obtain it from the vendor only.
