WildFly (formerly JBoss AS) is a widely used open-source Java application server implementing Jakarta EE, hosting enterprise Java applications. WildFly ships regular releases plus security fixes; as an often internet-facing application server, timely patching matters.

For admins WildFly updates involve the server and the deployed applications, which should be tested together — back up the configuration and deployments first, and read the release notes, since WildFly evolves quickly and drops older APIs.
