Windows ADK at a glance
The Windows ADK bundles the tools administrators use to prepare, customize and validate Windows images for large-scale deployment. These include components for image servicing, system preparation, user state migration and volume activation; the Windows Preinstallation Environment is provided as a separate add-on.
New ADK editions are released in step with the corresponding Windows versions and carry version numbers derived from the build number.
