Zscaler Client Connector is the endpoint component of the Zscaler zero trust platform. Installed on workstations and mobile devices, it transparently forwards network traffic through the vendor's cloud services. As a result, the same security and access rules apply whether a device sits in the office, at home, or on the move.

The agent ties together the modules for secure internet access, access to internal applications, and monitoring of the digital user experience. Policy management itself happens centrally in the administration console, while the installed application enforces those rules on the endpoint and establishes the tunnel.

For administrators, the level of the installed application matters because it governs supported operating systems, bug fixes, and new capabilities. Because distribution is often rolled out in waves through the cloud, an overview of the published builds helps to plan the rollout across an estate and to update outdated installations in a targeted way.
