DBeaver im Überblick
DBeaver ist ein universeller Datenbank-Client für nahezu jede Datenbank — auf vielen Entwickler- und Admin-Maschinen im Einsatz. DBeaver Corp veröffentlicht häufige Releases (Community und Enterprise); der Client aktualisiert sich weitgehend selbst.
Für Admins ist DBeaver sicherheitstechnisch überschaubar (Client mit Nutzerrechten), verdient aber Aufmerksamkeit bei den gespeicherten Verbindungsdaten: DBeaver kann Datenbank-Passwörter lokal ablegen — ein Master-Passwort für die Ablage aktivieren und restriktive Dateirechte setzen. Updates bringen neben Features aktualisierte JDBC-Treiber. Verteilung in Unternehmen über Installer oder die Enterprise-Edition. Nach Updates prüfen, ob die Treiber-Versionen zu den angebundenen Datenbanken passen; bei sensiblen Produktionsdatenbanken gehören Zugriff und Berechtigungen ohnehin restriktiv konfiguriert.
