KeePassXC im Überblick
KeePassXC ist der moderne, plattformübergreifende Passwortmanager für lokale Datenbanken — in sicherheitsbewussten Umgebungen oft erste Wahl, weil keine Cloud im Spiel ist. Updates erscheinen einige Male pro Jahr; Sicherheitsfixes betreffen gelegentlich Browser-Integration oder Datei-Parsing und verdienen zügige Verteilung.
Für Admins relevant: Die Browser-Erweiterung und die Desktop-App wollen zueinander passen; nach App-Updates gelegentlich die Verbindung neu bestätigen. In Flotten verteilt man per winget/Chocolatey/Repo — einen Auto-Updater mit Zwang gibt es bewusst nicht.
Beim Update bleiben Datenbankformat (KDBX) und Schlüsseldateien stabil — Kompatibilitätsbrüche sind selten und werden groß angekündigt. Ein Blick in die Release Notes lohnt für Änderungen an Auto-Type-Verhalten, das in Kiosk-/RDP-Szenarien schon mal justiert werden muss.
