Rufus im Überblick

Rufus ist ein schlankes Windows-Werkzeug, um bootfähige USB-Sticks aus ISO-Images zu erstellen — für OS-Installationen, Rescue-Systeme und Firmware-Updates unverzichtbar im Admin-Werkzeugkasten. Der Entwickler veröffentlicht regelmäßige Updates, oft mit Unterstützung für neue Windows-Installer-Eigenheiten.

Als einmal genutztes Portable-Tool altert Rufus gern auf Admin-Sticks — dabei bringen neue Versionen wichtige Features, etwa das Umgehen von Windows-11-Installationsanforderungen oder aktualisierte Boot-Methoden. Verteilung per winget oder schlicht die aktuelle Programmdatei. Sicherheitstechnisch ist Rufus unkritisch, sollte aber aus offizieller Quelle bezogen werden. Beim Erstellen von Boot-Medien sind die richtigen Partitionsschema- und Firmware-Einstellungen (MBR/GPT, BIOS/UEFI) der übliche Stolperstein.
