D-Link DAP-X2850 at a glance

The DAP-X2850 is a Wi-Fi 6 access point for dense office and campus environments. It is powered over PoE and managed either individually through the web interface or centrally through the Nuclias Connect controller. Typical settings are several SSIDs with VLAN assignment, WPA3, guest access with a captive portal, roaming, and channel and power planning.

D-Link publishes the firmware as a single file with release notes. Releases are infrequent, and the regional download pages show different releases with deviating labels; the German page lists a newer release than the international servers.

Before updating, export the configuration and check that the Nuclias Connect controller matches the access point release. The access point restarts and connected clients briefly lose their connection, so with many devices update in groups and outside peak hours. Always choose the package for the right hardware revision.
