D-Link DGS-1210 Series at a glance
The DGS-1210 series is a widely used family of gigabit smart-managed switches with 8 to 52 ports, some with PoE. It serves as an access switch in offices, schools and branches and offers VLANs, link aggregation, port security, spanning tree and management through the web interface or SNMP.
The series consists of many hardware revisions, each with its own firmware line and its own version numbering. Packages for one revision cannot be installed on another. Models with an ME or FX suffix also differ in function and package. The regional download pages therefore show several lines side by side, and not every region carries all revisions.
Before updating, the revision on the label is decisive, not the model name alone. Back up the configuration, schedule the reboot in a maintenance window and note that on PoE models the attached access points and phones are briefly down.
