Foxit PDF Reader is a PDF viewer for Windows and macOS that organisations often deploy as an alternative to Adobe's reader. It opens, annotates and signs PDF documents, ships with browser integration, and can be configured centrally through group policy and an MSI package.

PDF parsers are a favoured target for crafted mail attachments, so releases arrive at short intervals and regularly contain fixes for memory-corruption and use-after-free issues. The vendor maintains a public version history alongside separate security bulletins that map the fixed vulnerabilities to the individual builds.

When updating, keep in mind that Foxit uses the same rendering engine in its commercial PDF Editor: if both products are installed in your estate, they have to be patched separately. The built-in updater can also be disabled for managed installations, which makes rollout predictable but shifts responsibility entirely to your deployment tooling. Otherwise older installations keep running with unpatched components without anyone noticing.
