AVM FRITZ!Repeater 2700 at a glance
The FRITZ!Repeater 2700 extends the range of an existing Wi-Fi network. Together with a FRITZ!Box it works as part of the mesh, so devices automatically choose the best radio cell. Administrators use it in offices, practices and warehouses where a single router does not cover the whole area.
AVM publishes the firmware for each repeater model on an open download server. In mesh operation the repeater often pulls updates from the base station, but the firmware can also be installed manually. Security and feature updates appear independently of the router.
During an update the repeater's Wi-Fi disappears for a short time and connected devices look for another radio cell. The update should run outside working hours. In a mesh it makes sense to update the router first and the repeaters afterwards so that all parts match.
