GLPI at a glance

GLPI is a widely used open-source IT service management and asset-inventory platform, common for helpdesks and CMDBs. GLPI ships regular releases plus security fixes; as a web application holding asset, user and often credential data, hardening and timely updates matter.

For admins updates run through the web installer or CLI and include database migrations — back up the database and files first, and read the upgrade notes, since plugins are the usual compatibility stumbling block.
