N-sight RMM at a glance
N-sight RMM is a cloud-based remote monitoring and management solution from N-able. It is aimed primarily at managed service providers and internal IT teams that centrally monitor, secure and maintain servers, workstations and network devices. At its core is an agent installed on the managed devices that reports status, runs checks and automated tasks, and provides features such as patch management, remote access and protection components. Agents are available for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Because the platform runs as a hosted service, the vendor updates the server side continuously, while for the agents typically the current and the previous generation are supported. When updating the agent, a staggered rollout across device groups is advisable so that new builds prove themselves on a few systems before being distributed everywhere. Changes to checks, permissions or automations should be briefly verified after an update so existing workflows still behave as expected.
