NETGEAR M4350 at a glance
The M4350 series covers fully managed switches with ports from 1G to 25G and targets campus, office and AV-over-IP environments. Typical tasks are routing between VLANs, link aggregation, MLAG redundancy, QoS and PoE power for connected devices. Administration is done through the web interface, the command line or the Insight cloud platform.
The firmware is released as an image per model family, and the notes for each release are separate articles in NETGEAR's knowledge base. The support pages build their content with JavaScript, and there is no central machine-readable list of the current release. The main firmware lines are not interchangeable between all related switch series: an M4350 image cannot be activated on a device from the M4300 range.
When updating, the configuration and the exact model name should be checked beforehand. With an MLAG pair, the partners are upgraded one after the other so that the network stays reachable. Because of the restart, the update belongs in a maintenance window, and when jumping across several major releases the update path named by the vendor is worth consulting.
