Orion is a browser built by Kagi on top of WebKit that can load extensions from the Safari, Chrome and Firefox ecosystems. For administrators it matters mostly on Apple hardware: macOS and iOS/iPadOS are the mature platforms, Linux is in beta and a Windows build is still in development. Ad and tracker blocking are built in and the browser ships without telemetry, which makes it an option alongside Safari in privacy-sensitive environments.

Kagi releases Orion frequently and maintains a separate release-candidate line next to the regular builds; the mobile editions carry their own numbering and follow their own schedule. The published release notes mix all channels together, so desktop and mobile states cannot be compared directly.

When updating, pay attention to extensions: because Orion reimplements foreign add-on formats, their behaviour changes between builds more often than in the original browser. Since the engine is WebKit, some security fixes arrive through the operating system and some through the browser itself, so keep both current. After an update, check profiles, containers and synced data.
