Sophos Intercept X / Endpoint is an endpoint protection client managed centrally through Sophos Central. Sophos updates the client frequently and largely automatically; as security software with deep system hooks, keeping it current is part of its value.

For admins the client mostly self-updates from Sophos Central, so the work is policy and coverage rather than manual patching: ensure every managed device reports in, protection policies are current, and tamper protection is on. New versions bring detection and stability improvements. Verify that endpoints stay connected to Central and that exclusions are correct. As a control that sees the whole endpoint, its own health and the Central console access should be watched. Advisories from Sophos deserve prompt attention.
