TP-Link EAP670 at a glance
The EAP670 is a more powerful ceiling-mount access point in the Omada range with Wi-Fi 6 and a multi-gigabit uplink. It suits offices with many devices, meeting areas and schools. It is managed on its own through the web interface or centrally through an Omada controller, which rolls out radio profiles, VLANs and guest access in one place.
TP-Link provides the firmware without a login on the download page of Omada support. Besides the current release, the page lists earlier ones with date and release notes. There are separate entries per hardware version; nearly all variants now share the same release, while one early variant still runs on an old track.
When updating, establish the hardware version of the device before downloading a file. If the access point runs in the controller, the update is preferably done there, staggered by site or group. Clients briefly lose their connection during the restart, so the update belongs in quiet hours. A configuration backup beforehand is sensible.
