Veeam ONE at a glance

Veeam ONE is used by administrators to centrally monitor backup infrastructures (Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365), virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, and increasingly other hypervisors and cloud environments. The tool provides dashboards, predefined alarms, capacity planning and compliance reports that help identify failed jobs, storage bottlenecks or security incidents at an early stage.

Veeam releases major versions of Veeam ONE at irregular intervals, with cumulative patches and updates in between that contain bug fixes and occasionally new monitoring features. Versioning is closely tied to the core Veeam Backup & Replication product, since compatibility between components must be maintained.

When updating, administrators should pay particular attention to version compatibility with the monitored Veeam backup server, as older Veeam ONE versions often do not fully support newer backup server releases. It is also advisable to review the official release notes before upgrading, since a specific minimum build is sometimes required before an upgrade to the next major version is possible. For production use, the vendor's support lifecycle for each version is also relevant, as security updates are only provided for supported versions.
