PowerShell 7 im Überblick
PowerShell 7 ist Microsofts plattformübergreifende Shell und Skriptsprache — auf Windows-Servern, in CI-Pipelines und zunehmend auch auf Linux im Einsatz. Microsoft veröffentlicht jährliche Major-Versionen (LTS und Non-LTS) plus Servicing-Updates; sie läuft parallel zur in Windows eingebauten Windows PowerShell 5.1, ersetzt sie aber nicht.
Für Admins heißt das: Zwei PowerShell-Welten koexistieren, mit teils unterschiedlichem Modul-Verhalten. PowerShell 7 wird separat installiert und aktualisiert (MSI, winget, Paketmanager). Beim Update auf eine neue Major-Version lohnt ein Blick auf entfernte Cmdlets und geändertes Verhalten; kritische Automatisierungen vorher gegen die neue Version testen. Für Produktions-Skripte sind die LTS-Linien die richtige Wahl.
