Syncthing im Überblick

Syncthing ist eine quelloffene, dezentrale Dateisynchronisation — Geräte gleichen Ordner direkt miteinander ab, ohne zentrale Cloud. Das Projekt veröffentlicht regelmäßige Releases; der eingebaute Updater hält die Installation aktuell (wo aktiviert).

Für Admins ist Syncthing angenehm wartungsarm, verdient aber Aufmerksamkeit bei der Zugriffskontrolle: Die Weboberfläche (GUI) gehört nur lokal oder abgesichert erreichbar, und Geräte werden über Geräte-IDs gegenseitig autorisiert. Der Verkehr ist Ende-zu-Ende verschlüsselt. Updates sind meist unkritisch; bei größeren Sprüngen ein Blick in die Release Notes. Da Syncthing Daten zwischen Geräten repliziert, ersetzt es kein Backup — eine gelöschte Datei kann sich auf alle Geräte synchronisieren (die Versionierungs-Funktion mildert das ab).
