Cloudya at a glance
Cloudya is NFON's cloud phone system. It replaces an on-premises PBX with a service that the vendor runs in European data centres. Staff make calls through desk phones, a desktop app or a mobile app. Administrators maintain phone numbers, teams, call forwarding and call routing in a web portal. Through interfaces, Cloudya can be connected to CRM systems and to Microsoft Teams.
NFON operates and updates the central platform itself, so nothing has to be installed in your own environment for it. New features appear there without any action from administrators. What you do maintain yourself are the clients, that is the desktop app, which is also offered with a CRM integration, as well as the firmware of desk phones and other endpoints. The vendor publishes notes on new app builds in its download area.
When updating, a pilot group is worthwhile before the desktop app is rolled out to all workstations through software distribution. Afterwards, sign-in, single sign-on, the CRM integration, headsets and audio devices should be checked briefly. Firmware updates for desk phones belong outside business hours, because the devices are briefly unreachable while they restart.
