EPIKUR at a glance
EPIKUR is practice management software from Berlin used mainly in psychotherapy and medical practices across the German-speaking region. It combines patient documentation, statutory and private billing, appointment scheduling and connection to the German telematics infrastructure in a single application that runs natively on macOS, Windows and Linux. Companion apps for practitioners and patients round out the offering.
As is common for practice software, updates follow the billing calendar: at each quarter change the vendor ships mandatory updates that implement changed billing rules, statutory-association requirements and telematics-infrastructure specifications. Maintenance and feature releases appear in between.
When updating, it is essential to install the quarterly updates in good time before billing deadlines and to keep an eye on compatibility with the connectors and card readers of the telematics infrastructure. Distribution and release run through the vendor's service; a public, machine-readable version channel is not available.
