Glooko at a glance

Glooko is a diabetes management platform used by clinics, practices and patients to centrally collect and analyze blood glucose, insulin pump and CGM data. For IT teams in healthcare organizations it is relevant because it integrates into clinical IT via a web portal, mobile apps and EHR integrations (e.g. Epic SMART on FHIR), touching access control, data protection and interface considerations.

The vendor publishes changes separately for the web application, the mobile app, and professional versus personal-use editions through a help center with ongoing release-notes articles. New versions appear in relatively short cycles and typically bring feature enhancements, new device integrations, or bug fixes; security-relevant changes are documented carefully given the software's proximity to medical-device classification.

When updating, administrators should check compatibility with connected EHR systems, supported device uploaders/drivers, and any notes on regulatory clearances (e.g. FDA, CE), since changes to clinical evaluation features can have regulatory implications.
