innovaphone PBX at a glance
innovaphone PBX is an IP telephony system with unified communications features that provides telephony, video conferencing, chat, presence and additional applications through the myApps platform. The solution runs as firmware on the vendor's own gateways and appliances with a proprietary operating system, or as a virtual appliance in the data center. Administrators use it to operate telephony and collaboration for single sites up to distributed enterprise environments.
The vendor maintains the firmware in several concurrently supported version lines and ships regular service releases with bug fixes and functional additions; the corresponding release notes are kept per version line in the vendor's own wiki.
Before a firmware update, administrators should check the compatibility of gateways, endpoints and the myApps version, create a configuration backup and select the appropriate branch of the relevant version line. Moving to a new major line requires more care than a service release; testing outside core hours and reviewing changed defaults reduces the risk of outages.
