Jira is Atlassian's widely used issue-tracking and project-management platform, common for engineering and operations teams. Atlassian ships regular releases of the self-managed Data Center product plus frequent security advisories; as a system holding sensitive project data and often internet-facing, prompt patching is essential.

For admins the security advisories are the rhythm: Jira and related Atlassian products have been the target of serious, actively exploited vulnerabilities, so apply security releases promptly, especially on internet-facing instances.
