For admins libvirt usually comes from the distribution, which backports fixes — for security advisories, confirm the patched package is installed and the daemon restarted. libvirt manages VMs and their isolation, so its security underpins the host; combine it with sVirt/AppArmor for guest isolation and keep the management socket access controlled. It pairs with QEMU, whose updates should be tracked together. After updating, verify that VMs are manageable and start correctly.
