Nitro PDF is a commercial PDF application for Windows, macOS and iOS. It creates, converts and edits PDF documents, fills and builds forms, recognises text in scans, redacts content, protects files with passwords and permissions, and integrates electronic signatures. Organisations often roll it out broadly on desktops as an alternative to other PDF suites.

The vendor maintains a public release notes page documenting feature updates, bug fixes and security corrections separately per platform. The Windows edition receives maintenance releases regularly; larger feature jumps arrive less often and occasionally rework the interface and the module layout.

For deployment, MSI packages are available and can be installed through software distribution or MDM. Licensing and activation run through an account or a serial number depending on the plan, and should be embedded in the package so users are not prompted to sign in after an update. Also watch the Office and Outlook integrations, which must reload after an update. Because PDF parsers are a recurring attack target, apply security releases promptly.
