Notion is a cloud-based collaboration and knowledge workspace that combines notes, documents, wikis, task management and databases in a single interface. In organizations, teams use it for internal documentation and project organization, while administrators are responsible for workspaces, member roles, SSO integration and the rollout of desktop clients.

As a SaaS product, the server side is continuously updated by the vendor; there is no classic on-premises version. Native desktop apps (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile clients are available for endpoints and typically update automatically. The vendor regularly publishes release notes covering new features and improvements.

When operating Notion, administrators should keep desktop clients up to date, ensure auto-update mechanisms are permitted in restrictive environments, and monitor changes to security, sharing and integration settings. Because functionality and the interface are continuously adjusted server-side, following the official change announcements is recommended.
